Construction Management

Vesta uses a construction management model when working on commercial projects. This means Vesta acts as the General Contractor and obtain quotes from sub-contractors for the work to be done and then bill the customer for that cost plus our markup for overhead and profit.

Renovations

Renovations are a large part of the business at Vesta. In the U.S., our existing buildings use 39 percent of all the energy consumed — more than industrial or even transportation usage. While the motivation for many renovations is cosmetic or structural, energy efficiency should be a core component of any remodeling effort and Vesta has the experience and knowledge to point out the most cost effective overall solutions.

New Homes

While not all of our new homes are certified through the LEED for Homes program, Vesta always strives to follow the principles set forth by the USGBC and the Energy Star program. A home that achieves LEED certification has the potential to use significantly less energy than a home built to the Michigan Energy Code. Achieving LEED certification is a mark of leadership in green homebuilding, clearly differentiating a home as among the best in the country.

Projects Completed

Vesta Building Industries was formed in 2003 by Scott Schmidt. Scott had been managing crews for a local builder and decided it was time for a change. Technology was rapidly changing the appliances and mechanical equipment in homes, but the fundamental way they were being built was the same as it was 50 years ago.
In 2008, Vesta purchased and moved into the building at 1219 Turner Street in Old Town, Lansing. The Old Town community has been a wonderful experience and we have since performed several renovations on commercial buildings in and around Old Town.

We have a variety of projects that we have been involved with. Our portfolio displays some of of our best work.

Residential

Our primary focus is home construction. Our projects seek to meet Energy Star and LEED certification standards. The dry-in packages that we focus on are geared towards residential projects.

Commercial

We perform a smaller selection of commercial-scale projects. In this field, we are able to offer our construction management services in addition to any other necessary services.

Surveillance

As an option, we offer site surveillance to our clients. This will add an additional level of comfort and security knowing that the state of your project is viewable at any given time.
